Audio is a huge part of the watching experience. Without great sounding audio to support the moving image, your film will lack impact. The thing is that many filmmakers, especially those just starting out, focus all of their energy on mastering video, while audio often falls by the wayside. There are lots of things you can do to remedy this. First up: get yourself a great mic. The in-built mics in DSLRs and other cameras aren’t great, and if you rely on these to capture your audio, it’s going to be detrimental to your video. The RØDE VideoMic range has a solution for every kind of videographer, from content creators to documentary filmmakers. Once you’ve got yourself a good mic, the next step is getting a solid grasp on the basics of recording sound. We’ve put together a helpful class to get you started. We’ll cover everything from handling wind noise when recording outside to getting the best audio from your camera..
